The Italian Trade Agency (ITA)supports global growth for Italian businesses and foreign investment in Italy. Active in India since 1969, with offices in New Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai, ITA promotes “Made in Italy” through information, training, and modern tools.

India’s €19 billion leather industry is projected to reach €50.3 billion by2030, growing at 17.6% CAGR. As the second-largest footwear producer, India contributes 10.7% of global output, producing 13% of the world’s leather and employing 4.42 million people.

Italy, a leader in leather craftsmanship and sustainability, supports India’s leather sector. At the 38th India International Leather Fair (IILF), ITA showcases 18 Italian companies offering cutting-edge, sustainable solutions. In 2024, Italy was India’s second-largest supplier of leather machinery, with €14.62 million in exports.
